European Skills Index: a step by step guide
The first European level instrument that assess how well different skills systems work.
Even though skills system are essential to promote competitiveness and growth, until Cedefop's recent European Skills Index, its assessment and comparision was unreliable. However, combining skills development, activation and matching, the European Skills Index is ready to not only consider the question "how many graduates did a system produce?", but to also assess how fast graduates find a job and if the skills they have obtained match those required at work.
Cedefop divides European countries into groups, depending on their answers to the different questions posed by the Skills Index. This analysis produces interesting results that can be used to better understand Europe's panorama and the solutions that can be applied to solve certain issues.
